I’m not that good at explaining science, so here is a very basic explanation…everything is in constant motion at a molecular level. Even seemingly solid objects are vibrating at a specific frequency. It’s just that most of the time, we can’t perceive these vibrations with our limited human senses.
Our thoughts and emotions also have their own vibrational frequencies. Positive emotions like love, joy, and gratitude vibrate at higher frequencies, while negative emotions like fear, anger, and jealousy vibrate at lower frequencies.

When I first learned about this, it instantly made sense. All those times I’d felt “off” or surrounded by negativity had to do with energy. I was operating at a lower frequency.

I get all the feels. I feel sad, and that I’m not achieving what I want to in my life. I doubt myself, and that my intention to live my best life will never come to pass. I feel lonely and unlovable. It’s exhausting!
Depression can also rear its ugly head when you’re in a low vibrational state. I’m not talking about clinical depression here (that’s a whole different ballgame and requires professional help), but more of a persistent low mood and lack of joy in things you used to love.
One of the biggest red flags for me is my complete lack of motivation. The drive and inspiration that I usually have disappears, and I find myself sitting on the couch watching season after season of Real Housewives. Which I love btw, but not every single night!
This all can then start to seep into your relationships and daily life. When you’re constantly irritable, anxious, and lacking energy, it’s going to affect how you interact with others.

So, what are the benefits of high-vibrational living? Honestly, when I first started this journey, I had no idea just how much it would change my life.
From the first time I heard about it, I was really drawn to learning about manifestation, the law of attraction, and frequencies. It ties in with becoming more spiritually aware and tapping into the natural energy surrounding us.
First up, let’s talk about physical health. Now, I’m no spring chicken, but I felt like I could feel healthier and more energetic, rather than feeling like all the energy had been sucked out of my body.

I had never heard of this designer or brand that was now in lights in front of me, and I haven’t heard of them since. But I took it as a sign to book my session with the Reiki practitioner.

Rearranging furniture can have a surprising impact on how a room feels. Sometimes I wonder if it’s just me being a highly sensitive person (HSP), but I find bright fluorescent lights jarring and much prefer natural light. Unfortunately, I work in an office two days a week, so it’s something I have to deal with. But I try to offset this by bringing in other natural elements as much as I can, as well as going for regular walks outside.

And it is an ongoing process that needs attention along the way. As humans, we spend 95% of our lives on autopilot. High-vibrational living is about being intentional with how we operate, and that takes practice.
PROTECT YOUR BOUNDARIES
First up, dealing with negative people and energy vampires. We’ve all got them in our lives. They will always be around, so it’s up to us to protect our energy and learn the power of boundaries. It’s okay to limit your time with people who constantly bring negative vibes. I’ve learned to choose who I let into my life and whether they are someone I spend lots of time with or someone I interact with in small doses.
CHALLENGES + SETBACKS
Now, maintaining high vibrations during stressful times – that’s a tough one. Life happens, and sometimes it feels like everything’s going sideways. Honestly, you can’t be in a high-vibrational state all the time. Life is challenging at times. But I find that sticking to my high-vibe routines, even in a simplified form, helps me stay grounded.
